Maintenance Technician II

Department: Maintenance
Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Knape & Vogt is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our industry leading team on 1st and 2nd shifts! Enjoy excellent pay and incentives at a company where your skills will be recognized and rewarded!

3rd shift: 11:15pm-7:15am

*Starting at $29/hr. (or more based on experience) + $3 shift premium*

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Perform advanced repairs to mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot major mechanical and/or electrical problems
  • Perform more advanced preventative maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently
  • Perform advance maintenance on electrical systems
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems and conduct repairs when needed
  • Fabricate and assist with die repairs for assembly machines
  • Assist with design changes for machines
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician and/or Electrical Apprentice in a manufacturing setting
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, air, hydraulic and other systems, knowledge of advance maintenance processes and methods, Advanced understanding of electrical, mechanical, air, hydraulic, and other systems, working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices and ability to read blueprints
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively
