Supply Chain Coordinator

Department: Strategic Sourcing
Location: Grand Rapids, MI

You’ll take the lead on sourcing events at global, regional, and business unit levels, ensuring we’re always partnering with the right suppliers, under the right terms, to fuel both production and sales succuss. Collaboration is key, and you’ll work closely with operations, strategic sourcing, logistics, sales, and other indirect departments to deliver solutions that power our business forward.

What You Will Get to Do:

  • Support the Category Managers, Traffic Manager, Trade Compliance & Director with tactical tasks
  • Assist with cost and inventory reduction activities
  • Negotiate and implement best total cost, terms and conditions
  • Set strategic supply chain plan for each category
  • Identify and optimize supply chains for new and existing products, supplies and services
  • Use specific sourcing expertise to manage and negotiate major solutions
  • Partner closely with business units to negotiate supplier agreements
  • Manage the contract process and support other groups on contract development including HR, IT, etc.
  • Manage the PO process, holding suppliers accountable to KV expectations for acknowledgement & on-time delivery
  • Perform analytical tasks for PO/Invoice reconciliations
  • Conversion of potential projects into actionable sourcing events; project managing people and processes to successful, timely completion
  • Create request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP), and other sourcing materials to develop and maintain leverage with potential and current suppliers
  • Generate savings through various sourcing techniques including contract negotiations, demand management, supplier consolidation, and innovation
  • Research industry trends to stay aware of emerging opportunities, evolving supplier capabilities, and best practices for sourcing
  • Support indirect categories including Safety, Maintenance & MRO including part maintenance
  • Manage the maintenance of supplier data in Oracle
  • Oversee the workflow process in Oracle for PO approvals
  • Proactively ensure blanket purchase orders are written and submitted for indirect services & equipment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Serve as point of escalation for commercial and contractual supplier issues
  • Provide regular updates on project status and opportunities

What You Will Bring:

  • 1 year of business related experience
  • College degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or 5 years of relevant experience
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn an ERP system
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively with attention to detail
